Gratefulness Is Wonderful, BUT.... There Are Higher Energy Levels Available To a Leader/Business Owner
Gratefulness is a wonderful emotion, but has it been oversold as a miracle worker in our lives? Energetically, gratefulness resonates at Level 4 which is only the first of four anabolic, building or positive mindsets. There are three higher energy levels available to you as a leader and business owner that may serve you and your business more effectively. Notice that I didn't say better as that's up to you and it depends on circumstance.
Why Is Gratefulness Only The First Anabolic Level Of Energy
Gratefulness has the tendency to be conditional on somebody or something else. The emotions that are close buddies are concern, compassion, caring, and trust. There is little doubt that gratefulness leads to serving others very well, putting them first, and taking things less personally. You have reason to feel grateful when you are impacting the lives of others in a positive way and impacting society. The EGO is still strong with Level 4 energy and it can be damaged when our efforts don't impact the lives of others as we hoped or we can't "fix it". The tendency of business owners with high Level 4 energy is to overserve others and neglect themselves and self-care. That naturally leads down the road to stress and burnout, which leads you into the catabolic and stress-inducing energy Levels 1 and 2. Either the victim or into internal/external conflict. Sound familiar?
My Personal Experience
I spent many years of my career giving my clients and business about all I had to give energetically with an unhealthy amount of Level 4 energy. I had a relentless drive to serve my clients, their best interest, and to strive for perfection. (We'll save that last one for another discussion) :)
Where did it lead me? Cyclical burnout far too often! I'd over-serve drastically and end up in a pile feeling like the victim, then I'd move to conflict on my way out of stress, and back to being grateful to serve. My business and personal life suffered as a result. Sound familiar?
Let's Explore Level 5 Energy As A Leader/Business Owner
Level 5 is one of my favorite energy levels and it's found in many of the greatest leaders and business owners on the planet! Good, bad, right, wrong and judgment have faded greatly with the core thought being reconciliation. They make sense of circumstances and this leads to less rumination. Business owners that resonate with Level 5 energy repeatedly look for opportunities in whatever circumstances come their way that others would miss. They seek true Win/Win relationships and if that's not possible, they will walk away with grace. Peace is the core emotion due to a mastery mindset. "The outcome isn't what I hoped, but what can we learn from it and apply next time?" They utilize high levels of acceptance in regards to the business environment and themselves to make the best of it! More often than not, they are part of the solution instead of the problem. The EGO is becoming non-existent at Level 5. There is no need for it to build confidence. Acceptance and peace are in the mix and they trust the process. Level 5 is less conditional than Level 4 energy. It's more intrinsic.
Like every energy level, it's not all positive. Business owners that resonate at Level 5 can have the tendency to get into paralysis by analysis as they see so many opportunities to explore. They can also take major risks due to their high levels of optimism and mastery mindset.
My Personal Experience With Level 5 Energy
iPEC coaching trained me heavily on the energy levels, which gave me the opportunity to reflect and see where Level 5 has showed up in my life. When I looked to some of the more challenging times in my life where I triumphed, I had the tendency to look for the opportunity and access Level 5 energy. I reconciled the circumstances, made peace, and accepted it. That allowed me to seek and take advantage of a new opportunity and blaze a new, and many times, better path for my business and life. This mindset is a mastery approach to leadership/business and it opens doors that simply weren't there before. Increasing my Level 5 energy over time has completely changed my businesses!
Conclusion
Gratefulness is a powerful emotion that I personally embrace, enjoy, and believe is of utmost importance in my own businesses. But, as leaders/business owners, there are higher energy levels available to us that serve us better situationally.
