Peace Of Mind In Business

Peace, a highly anabolic state of mind. Great leaders and high performers often learn to access it in their businesses and positions. It's certainly a piece of the resiliency puzzle. In a recent poll, only 59% of Americans find peace once per week. Not exactly inspiring and less than ideal for human and business performance.

Where does peace come from? Good question! As usual, that recipe is unique to you, but there are common threads amongst us. Let's look at a handful of factors today.

Unconditional Acceptance

Peace is difficult to find without acceptance. Perhaps even impossible. I believe the peace most of us crave is unconditional. Conditional acceptance helps us move forward, cooperate, and even forgive, but it doesn't create the anabolic energetic frequency of unconditional acceptance. With conditional acceptance, the situation is still viewed as good, bad, right or wrong. Those are triggers that can take down your guard and lead you right back in to stress.

Unconditional acceptance comes through reconciliation. It no longer matters if it was right, wrong, good or bad. You have let that go. It just is. The judgement is gone and that helps remove the stress trigger and it leads to the peace we all desire.

I know this can be a real challenge with the hardships that many have faced in this life. But I also believe that the past has to be dealt with to some degree to find peace more repeatedly. I know my past held me back for so many years and I'm certain remnants remain. As a coach, I stay in my lane and work with my clients on performance. If I sense a deep rooted block, I will recommend a mental health professional to help a client move towards acceptance.

Alignment

When what we do aligns with who we are how we do it, peace is far more likely. Are we filling roles where we are most gifted? Are we in alignment with our core values in the way we operate our businesses? Are we nourishing the most important relationships and showing up how we desire as a leader? Have we set goals that reflect what's really most important to us?

It takes time and real work to create a business in alignment. That's why coaching and self discovery can be so powerful.

Margin

Burnout is a common thread amongst the clients I'm blessed to coach. Often it started out innocent enough and over a long period of time, it's like the old frog that got cooked in the boiling water. How did I get here? Too much of a good thing is a peace destroyer too! More commitments, appointments, sales, employees, bills, and the margin is gone! The self care goes out the window. In a recent session I stated to a client, "It's OK to enjoy your life too!"

I understand this one all too well. I spent many years with an insane schedule that spanned at least 6 days a week. There is only so much gas in the tank.

Purpose

For many, peace also comes from a higher power. A belief in a determined destiny. It just takes a great deal of pressure off life on this planet. An inner faith where proof is not required. Living for others can be a peace creator too. Peace is not possible when we are consumed by self. Peace comes with the territory at the highest energy levels available to us. Helping others create new life and business is my passion and it gives me great joy and peace!

In a recent session I asked a client, "What are you worried about right now?" Knowing worry had been strong in the past. The response, "I can't believe I'm saying this, but Nothing" with a big smile. An absence of worry is certainly a sign of peace.
