Flow Creation In Business
Flow in business feels so dang good! It's energizes us! Once we've experienced real flow in our business, we desire to get back there! Like life, flow is a bit mystical. The formula isn't available as it's unique to you and your enterprise. However, today I hope to help you gain awareness that might just point you to what's missing currently or remind you of what's worked in the past.
Flow by definition: The positive mental state of being completely absorbed, focused, and involved in your activities.
Let's get started!
Strong Vision
Hang in there. I know this isn't exactly earth shattering, but a strong vision smooths out the journey to your desired destination. You know where you want to end up. That helps you be more purposeful and put the moving pieces in place. If you are a business owner or team leader, your team can complement your vision. Goals are created. A path is staked out. It's amazing how often a clear vision materializes.
Consistent & Intentional Activity
With a strong vision and goal outline, now we can create a model of activity. This is where you invest your time and energy daily. The models for your team members complement your vision, goals, and model for activity. If a distraction or interference pops up, which it always does, now you have a better chance of recognizing it. As the age old bible analogy states, "As you sow, so shall you reap." Are you sowing in the right field? Consistent activity leads to habits and then rituals over time.
What I've found over the years is that when we take action consistently on our aspirations and keep our commitments to ourselves, it pays off big time psychologically. It's a self worth/image booster. Momentum is built here.
Challenge/Growth
I love my lazy boy couch, but I know that challenge is crucial for me. Without challenge, I stay the same and become complacent. Growth is the zest of life. I desire new roles and situations where I can overcome and thrive! Many times as business owners, team members must take over roles that we once filled so we can chase down new aspirations and progress. Without progress, flow is unlikely to exist. We get stagnant and bored.
The Law Of Attraction
You know the energy you bring plays a huge factor! We've talked about doing, but now we'll focus on being. Self transcendence is a term that seems to be coming into its own like kale. Unlike kale, self transcendence actually makes a huge difference in your business and life. It's all about the inner experience. How you show up energetically.
Flow is created by synthesis. A oneness with your team and those you serve. A lack of judgement and ego. A real sense of well being and joy is felt. Wisdom is the result and flow is created here. It's a beautiful place to access on this planet. The greatest leaders access it regularly and they lead more by presence than power. They influence based on who they are at the core. Synergy is present.
Congruence
As a professional coach, that's one of my favorite quotes from the founder of iPEC coaching. When we are on a path that is congruent with who we are at the core and chasing down our absolute passion, flow is created naturally. Everything tends to be more in alignment. We love what we do and how we do it. This is one of the major reasons I coach!
This list is certainly not exhaustive, but I sincerely hope it got you thinking.
Coaching can be the catalyst for momentum that leads to flow. Is it time?
Your Coach,
Todd
